What We Do

Some circularity ideas are waiting for someone to help investigate, test, and build. Others depend on multiple organizations within the building industry ecosystem moving together, and many barriers are solved more efficiently as shared infrastructure than alone.

A circular building or product is only as circular as the system it lands in, and we believe that building up the system is what it takes to move circularity from niche test cases to a system that can compete with the linear default. This is why we work in the following two ways.

Pilot Projects & Investigations

Bring us the ideas, goals, and explorations on your mind. Perhaps you are wondering how to:

  • Integrate more reclaimed materials into your existing design workflow

  • Design your circular product to be more easily specifiable and integrate into current design processes

  • Get clarity on the cost and risk trade-offs of integrating circularity into decisions

  • Find reliable reclaimed material sources to replace conventional sourcing

  • Find what's in your waste stream, which part of it is worth recovering, and how

We'll design the investigation, chart the path, and build the pilot.

Ecosystem Coordination

Some barriers can't be solved within one organization. Having a wider ecosystem perspective often surfaces unexplored opportunities and paths forward. Our Found Future can:

  • Investigate a barrier upstream and downstream across organizations, past the edges of a single project's scope

  • Convene stakeholders facing the same barriers separately in strategic problem-solving workshops to solve them together

  • Connect supply and demand, so recovered materials can make their way back into circulation and compete with current default options

We are the connective tissue within the ecosystem, helping to coordinate the moving parts to overcome barriers.

Investigate.

We ask critical questions and dive deep into the issues at hand to understand what is stalling circularity.

How We Work

Navigate.

We draw on a systems-wide view of who needs to be involved and what's likely to get in the way.

Build.

We design the pilot, the framework, or the pathway, and coordinate the moving pieces through implementation.
